He seems to have an attitude problem, and his production has dropped of quite severely during the past seasons.
His main problem is with his poor pass coverage, which led him to spend a lot of time on the sidelines last season, because Rex Ryan chose to field better coverage guys on the field instead of Scott. With his current contract, his annual cap hits would be: 2012: $5.95M; 2013: $8.65M; and 2014: $8M. No team in the league will want to take on that contract with the production Scott has been able create during the past seasons. If the Jets are able to trade him, they'll probably have to take on a contract of their own from the other party involved. I would say a definite no to trading for Scott - the Saints already have enough guys with big contracts who are not performing on the field as they should. But the whole situation is interesting in that Scott was the first former Ravens' player Rex Ryan brought over to the Jets after he took the HC position with them. |
