Could Loomis lose his job over the bounty issue?
Needless to say, Gregg Williams has gotten the Saints in big, big trouble. Most troubling is the reports that Tom Benson became aware of this and ordered Mickey Loomis to stop it immediately. Word is Loomis and Sean Payton both did nothing to cease continuation of the bounty program. You'll remember Kurt Warner and Brett Favre getting rocked in the 2009 playoffs by Bobby McCray, and it sounds like this was largely motivated by this approach. I would say Mickey Loomis' job has got to be in jeopardy, if he directly disobeyed the orders of Tom Benson.

Nope. He could probably sell drugs in the locker room and not lose his job. He's that good.

NO. But if he can't sign Drew to a long term contract, I'd say yeah.

Can we put a bounty on Loomis if he fails to do the aforementioned?

The media is making a BIG deal of this and so will Goodell. It is a scar on the face of the franchise & unfortunately the city. Maybe Benson will clean house in the next few weeks. I'm not saying he will but the possibility is there. He will have to find a way to regain his organizations reputation. I would hate to see Loomis or Payton go. Once the comish makes his ruling on discipline who knows what could happen at that point. I am totally heart broken over this situation.

I can actually see it happening. I think he has to send a message. Not just a message to the organization, but to the league, in hopes that the hammer won't come down quite so hard. Promote from within.

I see it like this. Benson told them to stop because of HOW it would look had it got out. NOT because we were actually trying to kill someone. There will be little fallout as a franchise from this. They all knew it was going on, so why would Benson clean house? To just save face? I don't think so.
