and asked him if Hall, Robinson, Gamble, and Vilma were gone at #18 would we trade down and possibly get Strait and another pick later in the draft. His response was that they would have to look hard at getting one of the receivers that dropped because of all of the 4 above were drafted. I disagree with that idea...COMPLETELY!! I believe Strait is more ready to play than Gamble and, given the chance, will be an excellent CB in the league. Additionally, the extra pick would allow us to get another receiver later (possibly Rd.2).

What do y'all think? Who would you side with - me or Mike D.?

If you agree with Mike D., what receiver (realistically - not Fitzgerald, Williams,...) would you suggest we get at that #18 spot?

I am all for trading down. There are going to be some great pick ups in the second round. WR Jamall Taylor\'s Stock is rising fast.

Trade down, pick defense, use the extra pick for a receiver.

Defense! Defense! Defense!

How much of the field this season would any wide receiver we draft see anyway? If we pick up any offensive player this year, it should not be before the third round.

That being said, we\'ll draft an OG with pick 18.

Possibly a lot. As much as Donte\' Stallworth has been injured over his first two seasons, and because the Saints couldn\'t catch the clap in a brothel, the Saints will need someone to step up at receiver. Who knows about Germaine Crowell? How will he pan out? Will Talman Garnder get over his first year jitters? Will Jerome Pathon ever be more than a number 3 receiver? Can Stallworth stay healthy? Will Joe Horn forget to make another call? As you can see, there are a lot of question marks at receiver. I don\'t necessarily think it\'s a MAJOR glaring need, but it needs to be something that should be addressed if we trade down and get an extra pick in the 2nd round. While I agree we definitely need help at corner and linebacker, wide receiver is probably the next area of need...Everything else is just depth.

People shouldn't be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Don\'t squash WR as a need so fast... If I remember last year, donte never layed, Horn dropped some key passes, Pathon played a solid 3 (but he\'s never going to be more), and Gardner did nothing flashy.
The WR\'s could be the teams major weakness next year if the team isn\'t careful.
Crowell is a reach, and Michael Lewis is still grat on ST\'s not third down.

What if Joe Horn doesn\'t heal fast?
