They still have time to sign him to a long term deal. I read that Brees said he will not sign a Franchise Tag agreement. If they do not get him signed by mid march he will not be able to attend any OTA's or training camp events. This will force Loomis's hand. I just hate the way this feels. I wish Drew would have a press conference or do an interview where we can actually see & hear him.

Well I'll tell you how I feel. We were going to make him the highest paid player and his money was going to match Tom Brady's for the first three years. He could have signed but HE chose not to. That's on him. In my opinion that was fair. We have other players to sign, and we all know Drew could have a job with the Saints for the rest of his life if he chose to. Point is he's is far from every having to worry about money...ever...

But he chose not to sign. That's fine. Here's 14.5 MILLION for a year. That alone means he never has to worry about money ever again...PLUS what he's already made in salary, bonuses, endorsements, etc. IF he chose not to sign then to hell with it. Chase is the next man up.

I love Drew. Don't get me wrong. But at some point you gotta draw a line and defend it.
