2004 One Round Mock Draft April 3, 2004 Pick Team Player Position School Comments 1 Chargers Eli Manning QB Ole' Miss Drew Brees? Doug Flutie? Exactly! 2 Raiders Roy Williams WR Texas On fire after workout. Raiders could be back next year! 3 Cardinals Larry Fitzgerald WR Pittsburgh Even with Boldin and Bryant Johnson being drafted last year, you can't pass on a player like this! 4 Giants Robert Gallery LT Iowa If Giants can't get up to Chargers pick, here's a nice consolation prize. 5 Redskins Sean Taylor FS Miami Complete's the 'Skins rebuilt secondary. 6 Lions Kellen Winslow Jr. TE Miami Would be Harrington's best friend in their West Coast Offense. 7 Browns DeAngelo Hall CB Virginia Tech. Workouts moved this shut-down CB into the top 10. 8 Falcons Tommie Harris DT Oklahoma Could be a big part of Mora Jr.'s revamped defense! 9 Jaguars Mike Williams WR USC Does his late workout hurt his stock? 10 Texans Kenechi Udeze DE USC Would provide Capers with a rush end. 11 Steelers Ben Roethlisberger QB Miami (OH) Who knew he would slide this far. Steelers pass on Robinson for future star at QB. 12 Jets Jonathan Vilma LB Miami Anybody who's seen the Jet's linebackers understands this pick. 13 Bills Philip Rivers QB N.C. State The future of the offense looks bright with Rivers along with last year's first rounder, Willis McGahee. 14 Bears Vince Wilfork DT Miami Defense is key in Chi-Town now! 15 Buccaneers DJ Williams LB Miami Could develop into an All-Pro. 16 Niners Reggie Williams WR Washington If they give him #81, you won't know the difference when you see him on the field. 17 Bengals Ben Troupe TE Florida Lewis saw how a dynamic TE can change a game with Todd Heap in Baltimore. Defense will come in round 2. 18 Saints Dunta Robinson CB South Carolina Fast and from the SEC, two things that the Saints coaches appear to like. Robinson could be a star. 19 Vikings Will Smith DE Ohio St. Vikings get their rush-end. 20 Dolphins Shawn Andrews OT Arkansas Dolphins actually get their hands on a lineman worth what they paid for him. 21 Patriots Steven Jackson RB Oregon St. What else do they need? 22 Cowboys Vernon Carey OL Miami Definitely a Parcell's pick. 23 Seahawks Randy Starks DT Maryland Where else haven't they addressed? 24 Broncos Kevin Jones RB Virginia Tech. Garrison Hearst and a 3.7 ypc average from Quentin Griffin won't scare anybody. Jones' gamebreaking speed and moves will. 25 Packers Derrick Strait CB Oklahoma Green Bay type of player! 26 Rams Chris Gamble CB Ohio St. Fit's the Rams mold as a risk-taker. 27 Titans Darnell Dockett DT Florida St. Titans address the free agency losses on the defensive line. 28 Chiefs Lee Evans WR Wisconsin Chiefs need defense but can't reach! 29 Eagles Jake Grove C Virginia Tech. Terrell Owens allows them to look at other areas. 30 Colts Karlos Dansby LB Auburn Colts don't miss a beat after losing Washington to Washington. 31 Panthers Sean Jones S Georgia A really good defense get's this much better. 32 Patriots Michael Clayton WR LSU Belichick taps LSU for another solid player. |

My Mock Draft
Thanks, Austin.
Looks good. You\'ve got a couple of interesting picks that I haven\'t seen over and over again on other mocks. The biggest surprise to me was the Bengals taking a TE. I hope you\'re right, but I\'m afraid of them drafting Robinson before we can get him. I also think they\'d take a DLman before TE as well. You never know. We\'ll see. I also think the Dophins will be pretty lucky for Andrews to fall to them. Lots of teams above them could use a tackle. .02 Good job. Thanks. |

My Mock Draft
Switch 2-3, There are going to be some trades with teams... I like the Skins falling back and someone come up to grap a QB, more than likely Steelers. I know you have them picking a QB but they can\'t sit back and wait for one to fall to them. Skins could use the extra picks. I also think Saints could benefit moving back as well. Bengals may move on a RB or WR at that position. I think the Bucs are going to move on a WR or DT before LB.

My Mock Draft
With Galloway, McKardell, and Joe Jurevicious, they are okay at WR. They don\'t have to go receiver in the first. The Bengals have Rudi Johnson at RB and a good WR corp with Chad Johnson, Peter Warrick, and Kelley Washington. I like Troupe because they are bringing in a rookie in Palmer at QB and Troupe could be his safety blanket. Also, I think Ben Troupe will be a great player. Not many TE\'s have his physical gifts and running a 4.48 40 doesn\'t hurt his cause. |

12 Jets Jonathan Vilma LB Miami Anybody who\'s seen the Jet\'s linebackers understands this pick. [/quote:70fad9d38c] Lets see - Eric Barton, very solid LB. Sam Cowart, very solid LB. Victor Hobsen, tons of potential, 2nd round pick last year. And John Abraham if they move him to LB. No, I do not understand this pick and I do not understand why people think the Jets really need a LB. They are taking a CB - after missing out on Winfield, they have no choice. |
