Brees record will be broken this year.
And probability the next.
Do to no one wants to "Hurt" a player with a hit over the middle, hell we might as well remove the safeties. Do y'all see the end of the NFL now. This thing is going to go legal now. Some jackass lawyer will put together a case and go for it. This will turn out like the NHL were a player was charged with some jail time. I can't remember were I heard this, I don't watch the NHL but do remember hearing this. I'm not saying that it really will happen, just see some lawyer putting together something. The NFL has a huge problem now with this, and it will get ugly. Finished with my *****ing |

I can't believe what they have done to the NFL over the last 20 years. It's not even real football anymore. It will be flag football or 2 hand touch soon. Don't hit a defenseless player, don't high high, don't hit low, don't hit in the middle, don't hit too hard, be very careful. What the hell has happened to this league? Hits and physicality USED TO BE part of the game. I don't recognize this game anymore. But it's not "NFL." |

I'm all for player safety, but rules and regulations can only go so far - in the end the buck stops with the players and their mental approach to the game. But, the good thing about hockey is that there's usually an immediate retaliation after an illegal or a borderline hit in the form of a fight. |

... or he could be referencing the McSorely/Brashear incident ... McSorely did actually go to trial on that one. Did probation & never played in the NHL again. I think Todd Bertruzzi was sued by Steve Moore for that infamous punch to the back of the head, not sure if he did jail time or not, but I do know he plead guilty to an assault charge.
But these are clear-cut examples of an assault outside of the normal realm of play, not that I think the courts should be involved, just pointing out that it's apple & oranges when compared to the Saints. Any big hits the Saints put on were done in the normal realm of the game. Hits that were not were flagged by the referees, deemed illegal and subsequently fined by the league office. I just do not think it's feasible to bring litigation and/or the civil courts into a sport whose entire premise is based upon knocking someone on their arse. "Some people try to find things in this game that don't exist but football is only two things - blocking and tackling. Vince Lombardi". Blocking & tackling, there's a potential lawsuit on every play for crissake. |

These football players get paid MILLIONS for the hits they take and can only blame themselves for going to extremes and hurting their contemporaries in the game. They cry more than little girls about stuff.
The women in the Lingerie League are tougher than these wooses. The nfl ought to go ahead and put pink dresses on all of em and play flag football. This league is done. |
