Quarterbacks top this first mock draft
By Pat Kirwan
NFL.com Senior Analyst (April 4, 2004) -- With three weeks to go to the annual NFL draft, lots of things can change. But it's time to put my first mock draft up on NFL.com. I will revise this at least two times before the draft based on conversations I have around the league, late workout results, potential trades and, of course, any late free-agent signings that will influence a club's needs. 1. SAN DIEGO -- ELI MANNING, QB. I'm not convinced San Diego will make this selection but I do feel someone who wants Manning will come to this spot to get him. Down the stretch, quarterbacks like Manning win in the draft rooms for the rest of this mock draft click here: http://nfl.com/draft/story/7232005 |

I wouldn\'t totally lose my lunch over the Starks pick, but only if Vilma, Hall and Robinson are gone.
A stud DT is NEVER a bad pick. If we picked up a CB and LB in the 2nd, like a Donterrious Thomas/ Keith Smith I\'d give us an overall 2 round grade of C. Wouldn\'t be happy, but wouldn\'t be mad either. But you are right, if Vilma, Hall or Robinson ARE there, and we pick Starks, I\'ll come fricking unglued! |

I wouldn\'t be too surprised if we took Starks, but only if Vilma/Hall/Robinson weren\'t there. Remember how proud Haslett was of the \"heavy lunch bunch\" before the season? He may think they were just too old and still want to prove himself right.

Quarterbacks top this first mock draft
I have to confess, I\'ve never seen Steven Jackson play. I\'ve never even seen highlights. But from everything I\'ve heard he is not a top five talent.
I have seen Sean Taylor play almost every game last year. He is a top five talent without question. The guy is everywhere on the football field. How can this mock draft have him going at number twelve? If that happens, there will be some regretful coaches next year. |
