Iīm not that worried about Colston. I think heīll stay for about 7 Million / year!

I like Colston, but I don’t think he’s worth more than 6-7M/year. He’s got great hands and runs accurate routes but he’s not that physical nor fast. I think if we pick up Moss and retain Colston though we’ll have an awesome receiver corps. We’ve been missing a tall and physical receiver and I think Moss would fill that spot and complete our offense I really think he’ll like being a Saint. I really hope they try to go out and get some stud LBs and DEs and not be stingy and just pick up some average talent. What’s good also is since we tagged Brees we save about 7M this year and we can take that money to pay Nicks! If anything also tagging Brees will make him play his best next year to prove he’s worth what he’s asking.

I like your point and if we donīt win it next year I say rebuilding as I did before on this board... we are a dome team and we arenīt gonna win the icebowl in New York in 2014 anyway. So focus on the young talent we have, work out longterm deals with core future player like Jimmy Graham and start from scratch, especially on the defensive side!

With Ingram, Thomas etc. we could have a potent running game working for us until we find a replacement for Brees. I donīt like panic moves and go after guys like Tannehill or Blaine Gabbert, because to be honest they are gone after a couple of mediocre season. I much rather have a stinker season like the Colts and get a player like Luck or Stafford!

1. Marques Colston, Saints wideout

The surgeries are well documented. I’m less worried about the injury risk because Colston has only missed ten career games, including three in the last three years.

I’m more concerned that you will have to pay for his past production and that production matches up with the game’s elite receivers since 2006. You aren’t likely to get anything close to that production unless you also have Drew Brees throwing Colston the ball.

Brees’ pinpoint accuracy and trust in Colston creates a lot of plays that aren’t there because Colston doesn’t get much separation. Ultimately, he’s a possession receiver.
He makes a good point, which is why we should seriously consider other alternatives.

DON'T PAY THE MAN!!!

I'm not sure we've been watching the same games over the past 6 years... and 40 times are overrated. I'm not sure physical is the first thing that pops up to mind when I'd be describing Moss either. And if you don't think he's worth 6 or 7 million a year, look at his numbers... it mirrors numbers of the elite WR's in the game. Whether or not we're willing to pay him is a whole different story... but not because he isn't worth it.

He's tall and physical and valuable. But Lance Moore does a great job despite his inferior size compared to Colston. I think we can use the cap space somewhere else.... like on defense!

I'm with Smashmouth on this. We could use that money on defense where it is really needed. Even if we lose Colston we'll be alright. We have a good set of receivers in line. We just resigned Lance and we've got two good looking players on the PS.
