No, Condon (not Brees alone) will not cave. There will be a meeting of the minds in the middle. But, that was the plan all along as he steered the tag away from Nicks.

I can see a deal going from $19 million year one, $24.5 year two, and $22.5 year three, with the remainder frontloaded into year four.

That would handle this year's cap issue and still keep in the range needed to make a deal.

Those would be very acceptable numbers, even though it would be even better if they could load more of that money on the 3rd year and take some off the 2nd.

That would give them some room to sign Graham to a new multi-year contract next off-season, while keeping the 1st year of that contract moderately low in regards to the cap.

Yeah, the more I think about it, as clear as it was to us the Saints were likely to "Sign Drew, tag Nicks, sign Colston" Condon had to know that as well, so he pushed them to the deadline and forced them to use it on Drew (knowing full well that that was who they would choose given that Sophie's choice.)

So he got the tag off of Nicks and will now consider the Saints offers. If that is the case, watch for Drew to sign days (if not hours) before off-season workouts begin.
