Just speculation
Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune speculates that exclusive franchise player Drew Brees will skip Saints offseason workouts next month.
The ominous signs for the 2012 season are snowballing in New Orleans. Team leader Brees doesn't want to lose leverage in contract talks by giving in on offseason workouts. The Saints are in danger of losing Pro Bowl LG Carl Nicks, No. 1 receiver Marques Colston, and deep threat Robert Meachem. Without a first-round pick thanks to last year's Mark Ingram trade, the Saints could lose further draft picks as a result of the "bounty" scandal. Source: Profootballtalk on NBCSports.com It would be a massive fail on all parties involved if a deal isn't reached soon... much less all the way into next month. Remember, just speculation on his part. I can't see this coming into fruition. |

Once again, I am not worried. It may be my maintenance medication and my liquid medication, but I refuse to let things I can't control bother me.
What bothers me the most is that others that I have come to know around here over the years can't relax and trust, as well. I have no doubt, come September, that our Saints will be poised to make another run at the Super Bowl. I don't give a flying rat's Kahooty what the final composition of our roster is at the time as long as Sean Payton has got the ball rolling (suspension expected) and Drew Brees is under center. The Beast that is the Saints will be awakened. |

Drew will cave, but we'll word it so it looks like we compromised.

No, Condon (not Brees alone) will not cave. There will be a meeting of the minds in the middle. But, that was the plan all along as he steered the tag away from Nicks.
I can see a deal going from $19 million year one, $24.5 year two, and $22.5 year three, with the remainder frontloaded into year four. That would handle this year's cap issue and still keep in the range needed to make a deal. |

So he got the tag off of Nicks and will now consider the Saints offers. If that is the case, watch for Drew to sign days (if not hours) before off-season workouts begin. |

Think Ya'll got it right I will let you guys do my negotiations from now on. Nothing would be more of a blessing than to see us come home with another S.B. after all the bad PR this offseason.

Loomis tagged Drew out of fear of Goddell taking it away from them and so Drew wouldn't hit the open market and get nothing in return, let's get a deal done soon
