I kinda like these one-year deals Loomis is doling out lately. It's a very WIN NOW type philosophy. Now or never. Hopefully this whole team will come out with a huge chip on its collective shoulder, looking for a ring!

With the current DE FA pool and draft class, it was definitely a good choice to re-sign him, because there aren't that many upgrades out there available to the DE position.

True, we may wanna stock up on a bunch of average DE's and hope one busts it wide open, because the studs are either gone or will cost a fortune.

Yeah, I think only Mario Williams could be considered a "stud" out of the remaining FA pool, but the Saints have no chance of signing him nor should they because of the cap restrictions it would worsen even more going forward.
