With the possibility of losing draft picks New Orleans HAS to try and retain everything they have, hoping that the recoaching of the Defense will tie all the ends together.

I was in bed a saw this on the news. I almost got up to come get on the board..lol This is awesome!! Like Papz said, Mickey doin work!!
|
Whether we get him signed or not, I have developed serious respect for Nicks. He has handled a very critical time in his life the way I hope I might have...if I had any kind of talent that is...
Signed his deal. Played extremely well. Recognized he was underpaid but soldiered through. Now that it's his turn to cash his check, he made it very clear what he wanted and I hope like all hell he gets it. Edit: And Colston too |
finally some news that is above water. last night my hometown tv sports reporter threw in the colston was offered 7 million. anyone else hear this?

With Colston done, Nicks still may be gone | ProFootballTalk
The Saints have secured the services of receiver Marques Colston with a five-year, devil-in-the-details $40 million contract. So now lock up Pro Bowl guard Carl Nicks before 4:00 p.m. ET? “I don’t think so,” a source with knowledge of the situation told PFT. On Monday, Nicks received what he described on Twitter as a “respectable” offer from the Saints, via Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune. The Saints continue to be concerned about investing too much money in the guard position, given the contract given last year to Jahri Evans. And Nicks continues to want to become the highest-paid guard in the game. If Nicks ends up staying with the Saints, don’t expect it to happen until after he hits the market. Of course, once Nicks hits the open market, the chances of staying could be even smaller. We’re hearing that the Buccaneers and Bears could be chasing Nicks, if/when he hits the market. |
Ugh. Come on, Nicksey!! Do you really want to block for Cutler or Freeman?! Gimme a break!!
|
Nicks just wants money for doing a job he's been underpaid for. I can't fault him that.
|
As I have stated before, I believe this was what ML was trying to do all along. If he can get Nicks to sign his offer, I think DB will soon follow.
I think we will need to restructure some more contracts along the way, but I still have faith that we will get both CN and DB done. If foe some reason we can not get CN, I still think we can pick up some one who can come in and produce for us. |
