I like Meachem as a cog in the wheel. I think he'll do well for you but you definitely overpaid him.
|
Wow, there's a whole lot of fail in this thread.
Sometimes I wonder if we all watch the same games. |
Look at it this way. Would you have done a Meachem for Sproles trade?

Wow. Anyway, I like Meachem. He made some big plays for the Saints and I was at FedEx field when he made that awesome play. They didn't show the replay on their screen while the play was being reviewed. That's when I knew Meach made a great play. Too bad he had to leave. |

Yeah, I think we need to put Alaska on a suicide watch. http://www.best-tshirts-ever.com/wp-...rt-300x223.png |
The word is out that Chargers are talking to Eddie Royal.
Robert Meachem, Malcom Floyd, Vincent Brown, Patric Crayton, and possibly Eddie Royal. Certainly would also get Antonio Gates open A LOT more often too. I'm stating to like this! |

Not sure. Sproles last season in San Diego was not so good but he proved that it was a fluke. Not just because of how he did for you guys but Rivers missed him big time last season! Hopefully Meachem isn't finished developing! |

I heard the Redskins are pursuing him also, he'd be reunited with Shanahan who drafted him in the first place. |

Pretty sure Royal signed with Washington

Good luck Meach. Rivers 2 Meachem TD

All of those guys are more than solid, especially Malcom Floyd. Like I said, that many decent weapons will also take some coverage off of Gates. Rivers having 5 legit targets.... I LIKE! |

I hope to hear that A LOT this season, QBREES! |
It has taken a while for Meach to come into his own. I think he'll be a Wes Welker type receiver when he's used as the number 1 in your offense. Speed is on your side now and with Malcolm Floyd and maybe Eddie Royal. They'll be burnin up the yard.
|
you get a talented wr that at times will amaze you and at other times will make you want to lynch him because of simple mental lapses.
I think he just needs a simpler offense to work in imo. solid risk - reward move in my book for the bolts |

Bolts, if Rivers just threw an interception and your offense needs the ball back, then Meachem's your man!
Seriously I think he'll do well in San Diego. |

lol. I remember that play. |

No. We got him! |

The first thing I didn't like was that we were drafting a wide receiver from Tennessee (see ongoing fluid list of JP's NFL Draft Do's and Don'ts)... Second, I didn't think he was the best player available; I specifically remember wanting to move up a couple of spots and grab either LB Jon Beason or CB Aaron Ross... As it was Ben Grubbs, who we just signed, went two picks later; Meachem leaves and Grubbs enters - go figure... I don't feel he ever contributed as a first round pick should have; the worst part was at the onset of his NFL career - he wasn't even in shape! WTF? A guy his age, his supposed talent level, his position and he wasn't in shape?!? In regards to the recent contract - I guess the most puzzling thing is that your GM, who's got a reputation as an Adam Henry, made one of the largest overpayments on a contract in Free Agency History... and yet he's let more established players walk or traded 'em rather than retain them with market value contracts?!? Puzzling that Spanos and son have retained him. Such is the world of high finance and the NFL aka Morons who have it. |
I like Robert - thought he did well in the role he occupied for us. He made some big plays. I hope and I think he WILL play well for the Bolts. I also hope he gets a well-deserved ovation when he comes back to the dome. I think he will.
