Drew Brees discusses bounties, contract negotiations | The Dan Patrick Show | Official Home

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees joined the show to talk about his offseason and more.

Brees weighed in on the Saints’ bounties: “The whole thing is disappointing and certainly alarming. The thing that I want to make sure people know. The perception that we have this locker room full of hitmen is not the case at all.”

Brees said that they’re trying to move on as quickly as possible. Brees said that the NFL has been investigating the Saints for a couple of years and he just found out. That makes him believe that other teams may be under investigation as well.

Brees talked about his negotiations. “I want a long term deal because I want to be in New Orleans for my entire career,” Brees said.

Brees weighed in on Peyton Manning. He said that it seems like there’s something exciting about the recruitment process. And Brees said it’s shocking to think of Peyton not being a Colt.

For everyone who wanted to hear Drew speak...there you go. He wants to stay here. It's Condon's job to respect that while getting the most money possible. When training camp comes around, if there is still an 18.5+mill contract on the table, all the Saints have to do is throw him a bone with some perk or move a bit more of the guaranteed money into years 2 and 3 and Drew will take it.

Here's the interview Drew did with Mike and Mike. Better interview than the one on the Dan Patrick Show. He implied in this interview that he won't play if he doesn't get a long term deal. Hopefully we get something done soon, I hate this dragging out.

To each his own, I thought the Dan Patrick interview was better but its not the same when Manix sits in for Dan

Say nothing to add fuel to the media bonn fire.
The deal is coming. I'll just be glad when it's done.
So that eveyone can start looking at the rest of the puzzle.
