Saints Name Henry Ellard as Wide Receivers Coach

For Immediate Release: March 14, 2012

The New Orleans Saints announced today that the club has named former NFL star wide receiver and 12-year coaching veteran Henry Ellard as the team’s wide receivers coach. The announcement was made by Saints Head Coach Sean Payton.

Great player typically means lousy coach.

I'm much more concerned about his coaching success than his playing career.

I don't know anything about him, but he's Saint now and Payton and Loomis generally bring in good coaches.

He was also the receivers coach for the Greatest Show on Turf, where he worked alongside Joe Vitt. He then went to the Jets and coached their WRs to be the only highlight of their offense. I think he will be pretty good!

Sounds like a good track record as a coach, I remember him ripping the Saints apart when he was with the Rams aside Flipper Anderson
