After he was traded to the Broncos last August for an undisclosed draft pick in the 2013 draft - he played the year with a $1.285M base salary without any additional bonuses. His original contract with the Eagles was for 6yr/$13M with an average annual salary of $2.17M/yr. Quote:

From what I've read, he seems to be one of the only FAs the Broncos' fans desperately want to see being re-signed. |
Saints hosting Bunkley, and other free agent defensive tackle notes | ProFootballTalk
Larry Holder of CBS Sports reports that the Saints will host defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley for a free agent visit on Sunday. It’s Bunkley’s first known visit since the signing period began last Tuesday. Mike Triplett of the New Orleans Times-Picayune took the time to examine where other outlets had Bunkley rated in the 2012 free agency class. SI’s Peter King had him as the No. 10 overall free agent. CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco rated Bunkley 24th. We had him 53rd. Bunkley is a 4-3 nose tackle, essentially an undersized run stopper. He hasn’t sacked a quarterback since the 2009 season. |
I know nothing of this Bunkley guy...

He has some very strong arms and an upper body, which causes problems for guards and centers 'cos he has the strength to swat their hands away and penetrate to the backfield.
I would not put too much emphasis on the lack of sacks, because he has been playing with some really good pass rushers with the Eagles and the Broncos, so the sacks may have been counted to some other guys' stats, but he certainly has helped in that overall productivity. Honestly, I'd rather see him signed than Franklin, because Bunkley suits a 4-3 defense better than Franklin who is a natural 3-4 NT, and Bunkley is much more mobile and agile. The fact that he was brought into the league under Jimmy Johnson's tutelage makes me thing that Spags likes his fundamentals, he himself being a product of Jimmy Johnson's coaching system. |
wonder how expensive he will be?

Like I posted on an earlier post: Quote:
I can't see him getting much more than ~$3M/yr in the current market, maybe he'd even sign cheaper than that. |
Not too sure about this guy, my initial gut reaction is pass.

Don't know how to feel either... he's been quite the underachiever throughout his career. He should have been a dominating DT.
