LSU's Clayton would be quite a catch for Saints Sunday April 11, 2004 Jeff Duncan The NFL draft is less than two weeks away, and Saints officials are in the throes of late-night cram sessions for the big April 24-25 weekend. I can save them a lot of time, energy and consternation when it comes to that critical first-round pick. Take Michael Clayton. Provided the LSU wide receiver is still on the board when the No. 18 selection rolls around, it's a no-brainer. Don't hesitate. Don't discuss it. Don't wait for trade proposals or squander an extra second of the 15-minute window. Make the call to New York, pat yourselves on the back and worry about the defense in rounds 2 and 3. want more? click here: http://www.nola.com/saints/t-p/index...7411217060.xml |

Even with the needs on Defense, I wouldn\'t be upset with this pick, as long as 2A,2B and 3 are defense.

Unless he falls to the 2nd, I do not think we should consider taking him. If we want a WR so damn bad, trade up a couple spots and get one of the top 3 (BAD IDEA, but...). Otherwise, forget about it and just take Colbert in the 3rd.

I agree with Danno. This wouldn\'t hurt my feelings, but everything after that would HAVE to be D until the 6th when we go FB.
