Semantics, we signed him in his rookie year, before the season. Technically he worked out with Cleveland for a couple months before we picked him up.

Also that was in 2005. Pre-Payton, Pre-Brees, Pre-RBL. If we are counting that, we may as well count Albert Connell

Or perhaps we consider that we were 5 deep in quality receivers and the necessity to acquire a free-agent WR ranked just below replacing Drew Brees as our QB.

Because we haven't needed to in 6 plus seasons?

Having Colston, Meachem, Henderson and Moore on the team kinda negates the need to go out and sign a free-agent WR doesn't it?

Yeah, and going out and signing a FA WR to be the #4 WR behind Colston, Moore, and Henderson, and/or the #6 overall receiver with Sproles and Graham added into the mix, shouldn't really be even on the table because there are so many other needs that need to be addressed.
