My guess is he was a flanker(hit man) or an eight man(the big ball mover). If he played flanker I would try him at OLB or DE because he is used to closing on the ball and making a sure tackle. It's also one of the simplest positions to pick up. If he was an eight man I think he could play TE because he's used to moving with the ball through numerous big bodies and he has the basketball back ground that develops good hand eye coordination. This will be an interesting turn of events. It is hard as hell to break a football players habits so they don't get penalized with a different set of rules when they start rugby. The fact that he was chosen to play by the US Eagles so quickly after learning the game speaks volumes. I hope he makes it. ![]() EDIT: Also, Thomas Morestead was a rugby player. |
