That's just plain silly. We got off light. Let's just move on and win it all.

Got off light?

You really consider SP being suspended for a %$E%$ YEAR is light!!

Is Goodell going to go after all the other teams that admitted they ARE paying for fumble recoveries, sacks, interceptions, etc.?

That's what I'm looking for now:
...all the other teams that had pay for perfomance pots around the league.
A host of other players/coaches have admitted to rewards and prizes beyond contract monies.
Now it's time to spread the punishment to all who drank from the cup.
The investigation as I have read was not confined to the Saints camp.
Surely, others have been found guilty of the same infraction.

I'm not sure about that, but I certainly don't think NOLA should be expected to host the Super Bowl under these circumstances. Talk about awkward!!! Maybe we can flip flop years with Miami or another city.

What's the big deal? So Payton won't be coaching this season. We still have the team to beat.

What's the big deal? Are you serious? This is unwarranted. Period. This isn't about the integrity of the game. This is about a looming court case. Are you really so glossed over with your cup half-full that you don't see that?

Sorry, I simply do not see this as insurmountable. Y'all can slink back into the past and pity yourselves if you wish, but I'm going to keep looking ahead and expect the best from this team. I have no doubt the players and remaining coaches will rally around this situation and play their asses off.

"This" isn't. What the NFL has become under Roger Goodell is. I can see you either don't get that or you don't care. I care. It's just sad is what it is.

Seems like we're in the minority of people not freaking out. The punishments really aren't bad, I was personally expecting worse. As a I said in one of the other threads, losing Payton for a year stinks but we'll be fine with the players and coaches we currently have. Plus, how awesome will it be when Goodell has to hand us the Lombardi trophy in New Orleans at the end of the season. It will be the greatest awkward moment in the history of sports. Just the thought of him having to congratulate us in front of millions of viewers and hand us the trophy has me smiling. Don't worry Saints fans, things are going to be fine. Who Dat!
