Brother..... really? you are making some bassakwards statements with all your doom and gloom.. You seem to want to make sure you have plenty to commiserate with.

Out of the 6 WORST defenses in the regular season last year three teams made the play offs, two were in the Super Bowl and and one won the Super Bowl.

I agree with your observation on the defenses, teams like the Patriots, Saints & Lions have shown you can have somewhat successful seasons with less then stellar defenses. You'll see a lot of 40/burger games, but that's what the league wants, high scoring shootouts.

New Orleans already knows they can shoot it out, the glass is still half-full. Let's wait and see what actually comes down from the league and what the Saints plans are before throwing in the proverbial towels.
