PFW: Who gets the better of the Bengals-Broncos deal?
PFW: Who gets the better of the Bengals-Broncos deal? Reynolds: It is the proverbial win-win situation as far as the trade goes. The Broncos don’t have an abundance of needs and, with two second-round picks, could afford to include their fourth-round selection in this swap. That pick is what sweetened the pot for Cincinnati and convinced Bengals officials to pull the trigger on the deal. The Broncos are sitting pretty. Their scenario is such that, as a playoff-caliber team with few serious weaknesses, Denver is a player or two away from making another run at the Vince Lombardi Trophy. What can they do with the 17th overall pick? "What can’t they do?" is a more appropriate question. One scout with ties to the Denver staff said he would be shocked if the Broncos didn’t use the pick on defense. WLB Ian Gold may still return but, if not, Denver may draft a linebacker, defensive lineman or cornerback at that spot. want more? click here: http://profootballweekly.com/PFW/Com...pins041304.htm |
