Bounties, Am I Alone?
I have never posted on a board like this before and I have been a Saints fan since the 80s when I was a kid. Having sat through all the horribleness winning the super bowl actually was one of the most exciting moments of my life, I have not missed a game since 1984 and I plan on never missing a game as long as I live.
HOWEVER 3 Points 1. Personally as a Saints fan I am SO disappointed in my team over the bounties, I am completely ashamed. I am all for winning but they could have put someone in a wheelchair doing this, or ended someones career, being paid to hurt someone and rewarded for carting someone off is the most horrid and classless thing they could do. I LOVE my Saints and I almost cried about this when I first heard a few months ago. 2. I fully support the NFL in the suspensions, it is going to be difficult for me because I know the team wont be as good and ever since 2006 I have been nothing but pleased and entertained but I'd be pissed beyond belief if the Vikings or Cardinals did this to us and knocked us outta the playoffs. I'm even more disappointed by all the people on this board actually mad at the NFL for punishing what now looks like a coaching staff of gangsters and thugs paying their hitmen to try and hurt another human being. Winning is NOT more important than somebodys health. People should be totally ashamed if your anything other than fully supportive of the NFL, I don't care if we win if we gotta be cheap to do it. (By the way I am aware other teams have done this and I don't care, thats no excuse, I hope they get in trouble as well) 3. The joy I felt from winning the Super Bowl feels tainted, I don't want it this way, the EXTREME reaction I had to Porters Super Bowl INT has been replaced by a sick feeling in my stomach. We wont he Super Bowl but it is now tainted and I do not really know how I totally feel about that right now, maybe I need more time but I do not want it this way. I was here for Katrina, I was in the Super Dome, Lost a great majority of my possessions. I realize the most important thing is the well being of other people, NOT money and NOT winning. Trying to hurt other human being will never be acceptable in my eye, Gregg Williams, Sean Payton and anybody else involved in this are gangsters. Coach Payton is the best thing to happen to this franchise, he is possibly a hall of fame coach, but I now think he is a scum-bag and it breaks my heart he is my teams coach and it is shameful on this great city that has been through so much. Shame on anybody who cares more about winning than the health of other people. This team has no integrity, the Super Bowl is tainted, I'm happy they suspended coach Payton and I hope this shuts down any other team from doing bounties. I also hope every single player involved in this, including Vilma is suspended. It was not worth it Sorry for the long rant but we need to get our priorities right, its a damn game, I love it, but trying to knock people out of the game for money is just classless. In closing I realize they weren't out there trying to kill anybody or anything but what if on what of these totally cheap hits like the one on Steve Smith or the one Mccray put on favre after the reverse what if that puts somebody in a wheel chair? Is that worth it? Some idiot on here posted and I read saying it worth it, if you feel that way I really feel bad for you that your priorities are so messed up your okay with going outside the rules, being cheap and willing to hurt or potentially seriously injure your fellow man to see our sports team win. |

You're totally alone
All your activity and IP address run back to St. Paul Minnesota. Your diatribe was coached and people here are angry/upset over this, but.... Just wait until the Vikings threaten to move next time! Don't come here for sympathy as you've lost my support |

UMM. You can put in a wheelchair getting hit bya a car walking your doggie. Football is a violent game and that's why we watch. Get over it.

Go to WWl and listen to Jabrari Greer interview with Bobby and Deke, it may put all this into some perspective as to what their true mindset was with this "bounty" system. It was a motivation tool and that is all, nothing malicious.

Yes you're totally alone.
Just because the bounty was in play... the Saints didn't do anything illegal and took Farve or any other of the players out in order to win the games. The penalties coming down are really for the lying and cover up of it. That SB is ours and they can't take it away. I totally felt during the Vikings game that if it took Farve getting hurt for the Saints to get to the SB... I was ok with it. Its a pain sport, its brutal. There are times you win by taking the head off the snake. The Saints didn't cheat they just ran an office pool come on... lets keep it in perspective. |

"...this team has no integrity..." Really?
Apparently you haven't been around for as long as you needed to be. And the Lambardi is NOT tainted at all. This foolishness is, and has been a part of the game since N.O.R.D. and Pop Warner. We are paying the price because we were the ones caught red handed. Ever wonder why no PGA players came out condemning Tiger when he got caught? They were too busy deleting messages and numbers from their own phones. We will get past this like yesterday's rains. Thanks Halo! Let's leave him alone. |

You are a perfect example of why the NFL needs to take your Vikings and move them from your whining cesspool to LA. You have belittled the people of New Orleans who actually did live through the Hell that was Katrina. I hope you truly get a chance to experience that Hell. It would serve you right. |
