Trades and draft picks
We have to get a few more players to have any semblance of a winning season. With this Bounty over our heads some of the free agents may rethink wanting to come to New Orleans. We have made several good trades with the Patriots Since Payton came here. They love to stock draft picks.
Does any body think we might package several draft picks to move up and get an impact player? If we do that we would have 2-3 chances in the draft to strike gold. We have a good scouting dept with Rick Reprish and company. They should be able to find us a player in say the third and fourth rounds. I don't know what we would get in trade for a 5th, 6th and 7th rounder but it might be worth it if we land the right player. Not having to pay the high rounds big money could actually benefit us with our cap issues. We are also in a position to make a couple of trades depending on who we resign. Porter comes to mind. We could be deep enough to package a running back and a corner or whatever we need and where we have depth. Maybe we could throw in Scott Shanle. |

I'd rather use our remaining 5 picks on 5 players than to try and move up... At least we can draft depth on the defense and maybe get a gem or two from those 5...
