Sick of SportWriters

I'm tired of all of the sports writers. It's no longer about performance but some behind the scenes soap opera.

They build up more drama than what is actually taking place. I'm betting that Goodell wouldn't have come down as hard if it wasn't to please the writers need for drama.

Looking at articles today they are speculating on keeping Payton if we do well this season with the fill in.

Demanding that Bensen should come out and say something and what he should say.

That because Sanchez hasn't spoken up about the Tebow trade shows lack of leadership.

They all need a kick in the knuts.

All I want to see is a Game Overview, and player transactions.

I'm with you, lynwood. Sick to death of the media, sportswriter, and condescending fans of other teams, who don't realize that if Goodell isn't stopped, it could easily be their team next. (rme.....they all make me wanna barf)!

I agree!

I've read everything from Payton getting fired to the penalties weren't hard enough.

I've even quit watching the NFL Network for the time being...

I'll be looking to get my news from this board concerning player transactions and any important team news. I'm done reading opinion pieces masquerading as journalism. They provide no facts just inuendos.

Papa_Voodoo made a good observation in the "they sold their souls" thread ... "They need to stop giving 20 year olds story assignments" ... I think there is a 'changing of the guard' among the writer's ranks ... the older, wiser, more experienced reporters/writers who knew how to report on sports without all the sensationalism are retiring to be replaced by the first kid out of college with a journalism degree ... except for guys like Skip Bayless, Mike Florio & John Clayton ... they're a little older, but just never never learned the right way.

... well, IDK how old you are and to your credit, you seem to be the exception to the rule ... I appreciated the way you stood up to your editors and demanded confirmed sources when 'bountygate' was breaking. It may have cost you a position, but your integrity/character is still in place and that will serve you well as you go forward into the blogosphere.

It's the world we live in, I suppose. Reality TV, fast food, artificial turf, 24hr ESPN, the designated hitter, moving the kickoff to the 35, no longer using the center line to determine a two-line pass in the NHL and the ban on perimeter hand-checking in the NBA ... these are the type of things that contribute to a society's decline.
