If we cut them, all guaranteed money and signing bonus accellerates to this year... Harpers cap hit is 4.5 million if he makes the team. If we cut him, his cap hit is near 17 million. I'm sure there are several others on that list that would cost more to cut than to keep. |

Have to make Drew happy, the only way we have a chance is to score big every game.

First of all how does Goodell know who put money into the pot? He can't just willy nilly suspend players based on someone elses word. I would think the NFLPA would have something to say about it as would the players to be named would probably file lawsuites. You can't assume guilt based on association or otherwise. There better be some hard evidence of who participated. Unless players confess or someone made recordings of the conversations how does Goodell know who to suspend. Vilma's is the only name I have heard during this whole thing.

If I were a betting man I would say that Vilma is out for the year. Harper may be too - he was already being labeled "dirty".
Look for Jenkins to probably get 8 games. Doesn't matter if they (Harper/Jenkins) did anything wrong, there are enough "vicious hits" out of our safeties on film (called tackles 5-10 years ago) that we're toast. I also look for former Saints Hargrove and Bobby McCray to get a dose. |

Also, Jonathan Vilma and maybe Roman Harper are the only players on the team I can see getting a significant suspension. So even if they didn't count toward the cap while suspended, it would only save us money on the games they actually miss. So that number you added up would go way down. Interesting to think about, though. |

Actually releasing all these players and we still have to pay them their guaranteed money. So realeasing Harper would cost us something like 17 million

Well if he suspends all of em we won't be able to field a team, and dumbarse Goodell and the nfl would lose millions.
