I love this move...IF ground rules are laid down at the beginning, then adhered to.
Parcells should be there for 1) general game management (time out calling, instant replays, etc.) 2) media interactions 3) managing emergencies (e.g. roster moves if there are player injures) 4) mentoring coordinators and assistant coaches Carmichael has to have play calling responsibilities and Spags control of the D, otherwise it won't work. Someone on the NFL Network suggested bringing Parcells in as a "Director of Football Operations" or something along those lines, rather than as HC...I REALLY love that idea... |

Good choice, We need someone who can handle the stupid bounty or suspension questions that will be repeated hundreds of times weekly by crazy reporters. I think his experience would be able to protect coaches and players from the nonsense and keep their focus on football.
