Rooney rule??????

We can still hire or "promote" a head coach from within and bypass the rules... my vote still goes to Pete Carmichael

I listened to Goodells speech at the owners meeting and he said we can hire from within and the rooney rule would only apply if we try and hire outside of the organization

EDIT: NFL Network just scrolled across the screen that Spagnoula and Carmichael are still possibilities to take over this year

I don't think you can bypass the rules, thats how we got here in the first place. You guys act as if interviewing an African American candidate is the worst thing in the world. You can do what the Cowboys did before they hired Jason Garrett, interview someone on staff already and then just hire your guy. Its good coaching experience for the candidate. Curtis Johnson the former WR coach, Henry Ellard, just for example I don't know what the big deal is.

I believe the rooney rule doesn't apply if we promote Carmichael or Spags to head coach, not that we would doing it illegally
