Goodell OK with Payton finding replacement; addresses WhoDat Nation

Saints Coach Sean Payton and General Manager Mickey Loomis have met with veteran NFL coach Bill Parcells about possibly filling in for Payton during his suspension.

While some people apparently have an issue with that, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell does not.

A reporter asked Goodell today, "It appears clear that both Loomis and Sean Payton are the ones who are orchestrating who's going to be replacing him. Do you find that troubling since these are two guys you are suspending?

The commissioner replied, "No."

He went on to explain that who is hire and how that person is hire is up to Saints Owner Tom Benson. "Ultimately the owner is going to have to make the final decision."

Goodell also addressed the Who Dat Nation today.

"Listen, I understand the frustration of the Saints fans, and I have great respect for them," Goodell insisted. "I worked very closely obviously as we were getting the Saints reestablished after the hurricane, so I saw first hands the Saints passion and their fans' passion."

The commissioner went on to say, "Everyone has to understand there are 32 teams, and everybody is going to have to operate by the same rules. If we don't do that, the integrity of the game and what fans love about the game is going to be impacted negatively, and that's my responsibility."

When will Goodell hand down player punishment for 'Bounty Gate.'

Goodell said today that he hopes to meet with the NFL Players Association this week and hand down player penalties after that. As many as 27 current and former Saints players are reportedly awaiting punishment.

Hey Roger sh*t or get off the pot! We need to know who is being suspended and for how long! This should have been done already!

Big surprise. He said a whole lot of nothing. We "have to operate by the same rules" crap and "worked hard to reestablish the Saints after the hurricane". Buncha crap if you ask me. Mickey Loomis put Payton in charge. Mickey Loomis and Sean found and sold Drew. What did Goodell do that he wasn't obligated to do anyway without facing political backlash?
He didn't address the economic hardship the punishments are placing on the city and gulf coast. It didn't address the fact that other teams who "were acting lawfully and within regulations" are going to have players punished affecting their chances to win. He didn't address The fact that ALL of our offensive players are being punished for something they weren't involved in. Not to mention the morale of the city of New Orleans which is still in recovery (whether he thinks so or not) from the storm and aftermath. Eff that guy! Address the issues or don't waste our freaking time!

Goodelll hasn't done diddly squat for new orleans or us as fans ever. He works for the owners period. Fines a lot of players that should not even of been fined.

Mr. Goodell, you don't understand squat about Saints fans. You say everybody has to work with the same rules and regulations then why are the other 31 teams allowed to do the exact same thing you punished the Saints for and demanded that the Saints stop without requiring the other 31 teams to stop doing. I can see why they didn't want to stop when the rest of the league didn't have to.

You think that the Buc's didn't have a BOUNTY out on Sean Payton when in game 5 of 2011 the Buc's player deliberately hit Jimmy Graham out of bounds on an illegal hit that was aimed directly at our head coach, knocking him out of the game and sending him to the bench for the rest of the game? And your cronie officials let it happen without throwing a flag for the obvious illegal hit? You think we don't see that? Personally, I won't buy any sanctioned NFL gear as long as you are still the commissioner. Don't go around saying you know Saints fans, you don't.

I mean sure, after Katrina we had them hold a home game here in New York, my back yard, and then the next year I screwed the city out of millions by having a home game in London, and I never even considered helping them by letting them have the combine or the draft or maybe the Pro Bowl.
So, d***weed, what have you done for us, exactly?
