this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I prefer a 4-3 base set over the 3-4, and I think that it better suites the division the Saints play in. Ellis has done a decent job against the run, and that is in line with his rookie evaluations, ...

Ellis has done a decent job against the run, and that is in line with his rookie evaluations, but if he could create some pass rush he'd certainly be a lot more valuable since he isn't really earning his pay at the moment. |

Great signing... we are addressing our weak spots... and what I like most is that we aren't filling in those holes with one-year stopgaps. This kicks ass.

if and when these suspenions come about, can they be appealed and set up to be gone just 1 at a time rather all leaving the team.

To answer your question, basically YES -- they will almost certainly be appealed, disputed, dragged out and put off, and then ultimately staggered to keep the team somewhat competitive. It's even remotely possible that some may be delayed by as much as a year depending on how the appeals process goes... With some of our older players and guys now on other teams, I'm thinking in one or two cases we might even see some scenarios sorta like what happened with Deuce -- OK, you're officially suspended for X number of games but you've already been cut/waived by the team and/or retired from the NFL. Or guys who were suspended may be "off the team" as far as this year's roster goes, officially replaced by somebody else, but then may come back late in the year and be resigned if there is an injury, in a Mike McKenzie kind of way.

Ellis was "supposed" to break out last year with Shaun rogers taking all the double teams away from him, that didn't pan out and I don't think he's living up to his high pick status, he hasnt been performing for years
Trade him for a pick or another player |

Personally with the size and speed Wilson has I would use him in the middle on every down and rotate the OLB. Wilson could be a 4-3 Ray Lewis, even though Baltimore is a 3-4. A MLB for the next 10 years, I could see it.
