I had a dream last night. In my dream, ESPN made the decision to shut down its web site. It cited poor traffic and indicated this was due to its increasing lean to sensationalism as opposed to actual reporting.
And you're right Danno, it IS beneath both of them. Reporters report...that's fine...REPORT...but leave the assumptions to the reader. Vilma is accurate to say that King (and just about every other 'sports reporter') has become a glorified blogger. There is a BIG difference as you know. "I" blog, because I don't have 'sources'. Sadly those who DO have sources have done a terrible job with this story. Some LSU player's wonderlic score made an ESPN web page yesterday. Seriously. That's not sports reporting. Ryan Leaf STILL makes headlines on ESPN (and other sites too) and it's sad. I say give him hell Vilma. |
C'mon Man...
