While the New Orleans Saints have publically tried to persuade legendary head coach Bill Parcells out of retirement to coach the team during Sean Payton’s year-long suspension, the Minnesota Vikings have quietly been making their own push as well, according to the New York Post.
Sources told the paper that the Vikings’ ownership is interested in bringing in the 71-year-old to both coach the team and oversee football operations. Those same sources said that Vikings owner Zygi Wilf told Parcells to “name his price.” As a head coach, Parcells has posted a 172-130 record spanning three decades in the NFL. In the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, he helped the New York Giants win two Super Bowls. He led the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl in 1996 as well. He has not coached since 2006, however, when he led the Dallas Cowboys to a 9-7 record. He most recently served as the Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the Miami Dolphins Report: Vikings Tell Bill Parcells To |
"A Veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Hmmm... I don't know how well Spielman and Parcells would work together, but the Vikes definitely need to do some organizational changes, and stop bringing in old QBs.

The Viqueens don't have a snowball's chance in hell!
Parcells himself said he would never coach again, and the only reason he would consider coaching the Saints next year because he would be helping a friend. Sean is one of his guys is how he put it... |

The Saints are a one and done deal, the Vikings are a multiple year project. Not happening, even if it was true.
