I really don't know. I haven't seen Hawthorne in action that many times, since I rarely catch any of the Seahawks' games. I guess with the relatively limited knowledge I have of the guys, I'd prefer Lofton as the MLB and Hawthorne on either side if they were to take the field at the same time. But I guess it would also depend on the type of play Spags was calling, since both are tackling monsters I would expect them both to be on the field at the same time on running plays. In any case, it'll be really exciting to see the LB corps take shape during the off-season camps and the pre-season games, and to see Spags' mentality toward who fits where in his schemes - and I'm not just talking about these two guys. Also, some of the things I've read about Hawthorne on couple of the Seahawks' message boards have stated that Hawthorne is somewhat tight with his hips, so his turns are not as fluid as one would perhaps want in their MLB, so he might best fit a role where he doesn't have to do as many tight turns and fall into coverage. |
Good signing. Should groom out well in Spags system.

work that cap down some more and we'll get Drew his agent's greedy hands on his money.
