Brees Payton contract theory
this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Since Brees is not contracted yet, and Payton can not have any contact with any of the team, does that mean that presently Payton and Brees can hang out until the contract is signed? May just be a strategy to ...

Brees Payton contract theory
Since Brees is not contracted yet, and Payton can not have any contact with any of the team, does that mean that presently Payton and Brees can hang out until the contract is signed?
May just be a strategy to get them as much time as possible until Drew has to sign his contract and can not have contact with Payton... I'm spit balling here... bear with me |

I doubt Goodell would allow that, even though Brees hasn't signed his franchise tag. He still is technically a member of this team

I'm for screwing with the NFL but right now is the time to stay as low profile as possible so when the suspensions come under review after the season, Goddell will then have no choice but to allow Payton back with the team

That's something I don't understand. Goodell gave Payton a one year suspension, but said he would review the status of the suspension after this season...
He gives Williams a indefinite suspension but says he will review his status after the season... Both sound like they are the same thing to me... |

No, no! Drew's golfing with the Tuna, who has met with Dick Vermeil in an abandoned parking garage, who has had a video call with Dave Cowher (in the last working XXX theater in the U.S.) who is texting with Herm Edwards on a burn phone, who had a long lunch with Denny Green who just left Sean in a Turkish bath where Sean happened to be at the same time (after a rather torrid morning with Godell's wife).....
