****, if I was Payton, I would be thrilled to take a year off. It's not like his job is in jeopardy.

EDIT: Saw the pic, dude is just hanging out (NOT BONDING) with other dudes. Bonding makes it sound weird.

Actually, he is just posing for a picture with what is probably a group of strangers. My son and his buddy's ran into Payton last summer at Six Flags in Arlington, Texas. He was there with his kids and spent several minutes talking with my son and his friends and also posed for a picture with them. He was waiting for his kids who were on a ride at the time.

I call BS... in actuality Sean was chatting with your son about the 10G's he put on your knee. Payton couldn't go more then 30 seconds without talking bounties ....

Just kidding, thats awesome but dont tell the media they believe Payton to be the devil in flesh.

Well, he does lose something like close to $7M in the process, so it's not all smiles and giggles.

Too add to this, the guy is a fierce competitor, it really probably hasn't sunk in but it will be real difficult for him when practice is full swing and the season begins.
