That's unfortunate; the players who could have been or even were injured are also members of the union.
I want someone to show me some evidence that we "injured" players! The only two I can think of are Favre and Warner, Favre was already on a injured ankle and Warner got slobber-knocked; but wasn't seriously injured...

I know, it's so freaking annoying. Just because people think the Saints meant to hurt people, they assume that we actually did. The guys who got hurt, were hit perfectly legally in typical football plays that happen all the time. But none of the supposed targeted players had any kind of real injury other than Favre's ankle. But 40 year old quarterbacks get hurt pretty easily.

I hate articles built on assumptions like this, where the writer (and the NFL spokesguy) ASSUMES that the union is on the side of the Saints, by virtue of ASSUMING that the Saints are actually guilty of something. The union is NOT on the Saints' side. In fact they have very carefully said nothing of the sort. The union is only asking for FACTS and EVIDENCE, with which to determine the guilt or innocence of the Saints. (Which is what Saints fans are asking for as well). By doing so, they are taking the side of the players who were allegedly "bountied," as well as representing the ones who allegedly had the bounties. This guy is a stooge and a simpleton for not realizing that.

the real question is, if God-ell had enough evidence to suspend the coaches and GM, then why isn't he turning the relevant info over to the NFLPA??

Oh, and Putin has replaced Medvedev as Russian leader in a clean election. I feel that most events in this world are legit.

Yep. That's the question. And whatever the NFLPA knows at this point they damn near had to drag out of Roger. If this were the slam dunk for the NFL the media (and the NFL) would have us believe, then there would be no delay and the NFLPA would have to tuck tail.

Well, living in Finland I'm glad that they "re-elected" Putin as opposed to some of the opposition leaders, who have in the past openly made statements about rebuilding the Russian empire with the expense of border nations like Finland.

Putin and the Finnish government at least have good diplomatic relations, and while it may suck for the Russian people - it does prolong stability within that state.

As for the possible injuries the Saints' may or may not have inflicted because of the bounty program - DEs and DTs all have a mindset of getting to the QB and knocking him out of the game, so I don't see Favre's injuries as solid evidence, because it's all part of the game when it comes to the battle between the D-line and the O-line.

The high-low hit was unfortunate and against the letter of the rules, but I don't believe that there was an intention of injury behind that play, that much is clear from the reactions of the two Saints' players after they get up.

Duh! Maybe the players' union is more intent on protecting the New Orleans Saints involved in the team's bounty scandal than supporting its members who could have been hurt by the pay-for-pain plan because few, if any, of their members were actually hurt by the 'pay-for-pain' plan?

The NFLPA would just as aggressively defend any players on any team involved in a situation like this, it's what they do ... that's why they call it a 'union'.
