this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't mind Shanle if he is playing on the strong side. Although I wonder why keep him when you have Will Herring who is pretty much the same exact player with a little more speed....

Herring supposedly has good coverage skills, but unfortunately he missed most of last season due to the injury, so it's hard to assess whether that notion holds true - he did have that one pick if I remember correctly. Also, Herring will be under contract for the 2013 season with a $1.8M cap hit, so it would make sense to keep him if it came down to either him or Shanle, who would become a FA next offseason - or maybe a trade if someone was interested? |
