this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; @JasonLaCanfora: If a team came a callin' the Giants this week, offering say a 3rd round pick for Osi, can't help but think things could get interesting....

Would Osi be worth a 3rd round pick?

I wouldn't I doubt we'd have the cap space to make it work, Loomis and his genius can only do so much...

YES! DO IT! There’s no one else in the 3rd near his talent.

Yeah unless you have a can't miss athlete like Jimmy Graham was in the 3rd a couple years ago, then it's really a crap shoot to find someone who can help you. I'd at least strongly consider it. Osi isn't terribly young, but he isn't all that old either, and was every bit as productive as ever when he returned from injury last year.

I'd love I'd to get him but I just see were the cap space could be made.
It's the one issue I have with neededing to pay Drew 20ml year. I know he's the heart of the franchise but such high salary for him cuts back other players. |

He's 30. Back from injury. Chip on his shoulder. Averaging 10 sacks/yr over the last SIX seasons.
Look Usi is a leader, a great locker room guy and he's known for helping the younger players in their own development. Imagine what that means fo Jordan, Gallette, Romeus... Not to mention that he's all too familiar with Spag's defense. See 2007 Superbowl. If cap room is our only concern, I say we let Loomis loose on his abacus because this could be huge for our pass rush. I doubt it happens, but yes - I would give up a 3rd round pick. |

Let's trade away all of our draft choices (although not for just one guy -we already tried that one) just so's no black and gold would have have to be on the same channel, much less the same room as the great dictator on draft day. Would 1/32 of the tv market not watching make a dent in the ratings?
