Linebackers
So we signed three new backers. That puts us up to four quality name brand backers including vilma. Not to mention Casillas getting signed. We're REAL DEEP all of a sudden. I have two questions:
1) Even though Spags is a 4-3 guy, any chance hell use Bunkley in a 3-4? 2) Vitt named SHANLE as a STARTER today? Why haven't we tied him to a tree and grabbed a shovel on him yet??? I bet he's got the next dirt to sling and we're afraid to let him go. Hell, SHANLE is probably the mastermind behind all this!!! |

Vitt said that was right now, he wants the linebackers to be able to play all 3 positions and that changing would be made .... lets see how this goes but I'd still put money down that Shanle isn't on the team come the Redskins game

Rogers and Franklin were brought in last year to do the same thing, but failed most of the time. Spags uses a lot of cover 2 4-3, relying on pressure from the 4 down lineman. I doubt we see much 3-4 if any this year... |

We do seem deep with decent to good LB's now. Thats kinda new and most of us don't know how to deal with that yet. We're still numb.
I'm hoping Shanle is there simply because he's a team leader and a smart versatile LB. I take comfort in that he's currently listed at SLB. He's probably adequate there. I'm guessing when the season starts he'll be a back-up. |

I can't wait until season starts, looking forward to see Shanle and Co. take the field under Spags.

As hard a time as Shanle gets, I hope he fits really well into Spags' scheme and kicks the crap out of people next year...
Probably not likely, but I'd love to see it... |
