I know this is in the wrong place but...

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm in town for a limited amount of time, in Kenner and I'm trying to find a place that sells Manuel's Hot Tamales. Can y'all help a brutha out?...

Wow. Both numbers are out of service.

If you're driving back thru NWLA, Zwolle, Louisiana has lots of good tamale places... its a tradition... You can also get Zwolle Tamales in Many, La.

I think you might be out of luck.

I'm not sure they ever came back after Katrina. I think the place on Carrollton is something else now, like a yogurt shop or snowball stand or something.

Interesting story, Buds. Everyone I know in NO misses Manuel's. That story was written in 2008. Just wondering if a po-boy shop ever opened since it now might be a yogurt shop.

MM, are you coming thru Houston? I happen to be a Mexican.
I should be able to hook you up with good tamales.

Hey, thanks, I appreciate that very much, but unfortunately I flew in and though I have family in Houston I won't be able to stop in until I get back home & get my car running for the next trip down but if I was driving I would take you up on your gracious offer. Being Cajun myself I can definitely rock in the kitchen and make a mean tamale myself but when I come back to my hometown I like to get some of my downhome grub if you get my drift. I would imagine you make some serious tamales too.
