He often has this grumpy attitude in his words, when he does the weekly film study and stuff, like it's a chore that he has to wade through...or he'll say these kinda backhanded, exasperated-sounding things in the game breakdowns, like "the Saints took a gamble in the 3rd quarter and got really lucky this time" or he'll review the film with some kind of "DID YOU NOTICE" angle, and call out some minor coaching decision that didn't really matter, and so forth. I DON'T want him to be biased, but it seems he doesn't have any of the passion for the game like the other TP writers do.

I've noticed that he NEVER answers the comments under articles on nola.com, while other TP writers (Kevin Spain, Nakia Hogan, etc) frequently DO pop up and say things, to interact with fans, clarify stories, or add to the discussion. I guess he is too busy being Jeff Duncan to do that!

I often wonder, I believe Jeff Duncan is a BIG source of this myth of Sean Payton being "arrogant" or a jerk, or rude, simply because of some perceived "slight" on Duncan that he thinks was done by Payton, by the Saints or their organization. It's really odd to me, how many of his articles have this "arrogant" or "cocky" theme, or this sort of subtle snarky axe to grind, about Sean Payton and Loomis in particular.
Thats what I was saying. Duncan and a lot of other beat writers/national reporters hold grudges. Duncan could have been "slighted" many years ago by payton and held onto that contempt. Now, and even before all this happen, its starting to spill out in his writing. I know I can read between the lines and see that there is some kind or grudge there. I just hate that sports reporters take stuff so personally and have the platform to destroy someone's reputation and even career. Believe me if Duncan worked for ESPN or any other paper he would not disguise his disgust for Payton. A lot of his columns as of late seem to be auditions for a national job with the jabs he's sending.
