That's why you give them Smith in the trade... He has a Saints Jersy but probably will not be able to wear it for the first 1/2 of the season.

Why do you think they would take Smith and his contract... if anything I would think that adding Smith to the trade would decrease the Saints' trade offer.

Smith and his contract with a 3rd round pic. Is still a hell of a lot less than paying Freeny's contact.

Will Smith this year: 7,312,500

I thought that you were talking about the Giants and Osi, but I certainly don't think that the Saints should give up a 3rd and Smith for Freeney on his current contract. If Loomis made that trade, I would seriously lose respect for him.
