I'm still stuck on the 4. Did he pull a groin muscle or something. lol

|Mitch| 04-28-2012 01:50 PM

I didn't watch any Auburn games, was he better as a CB or FS?

hagan714 04-28-2012 01:53 PM

he is a bit stiff in coverage at the line. but he held his own for 2 years as a starter. run support is so so

rep 4 reps? wtf. heart jumps to mind asap

i started to remove him for the next round but mitch posted so i put him back up.

hagan714 04-28-2012 01:54 PM

Julian Miller, DE, West Virginia - Good only knows what you will get with him. WV played him all over the place., even at NT in a 34. All i can say is this kid plays ball and can handle just about anything you throw at him.

Corey White? time to do some research, I have no idea who he is

CheramieIII 04-28-2012 02:13 PM

I don't give out F grades on Day 3. If I did, this would be an F. No major big board had Corey White in the top 500. I didn't think he would even be a priority UDFA.
and found this:

http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2...sive_back.html

Quote:

Former Samford cornerback Corey White is considered an up-and-coming safety prospect by the NFL.
On the last day of the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday in Indianapolis, White was up - 37.5 inches up, to be exact. That was his vertical jump. Only Vanderbilt's Sean Richardson (38.5) jumped higher among the safeties.
White also turned in the third-best broad jump among the safeties. He leaped 10 feet, 6 inches. Only Richardson (10-8) and Mississippi State's Charles Mitchell (10-7) jumped farther.
In other drills, White had a 40-yard dash time of 4.55 seconds and lifted 225 pounds on the bench press 15 times. He did the three-cone drill in 6.72 seconds and the 20-yard shuttle in 4.22 seconds.

CheramieIII 04-28-2012 02:22 PM

Overview

White is an up-and-coming prospect out of Samford who has great size for a cornerback and could be moved back to safety at the next level given his skill set. He has been a consistent tackler and run defender. He could benefit from playing at the back of a defense and working toward the line of scrimmage to be more involved in run support than he would be from his corner position. He could struggle athletically at corner. Look for him to be taken in the late rounds as a project and special teams contributor.

Analysis

Strengths
White is very strong in run support, where he takes great angles toward the ball. He uses his feet to track runners and fit on them to make plays. He approaches ball carriers like a safety would, which bodes well for a position switch. White displays good athletic ability when near a receiver with the ball is in the air, but he can struggle getting to that point. All these skill sets combine to make him a stronger and more intriguing safety than corner, especially given his size.
Weaknesses
White is not a great athlete for the corner position. He is a bit of an awkward runner and can struggle in transitions. He stutters his feet through movements and in and out of breaks, which makes it difficult for him to cover closely in man-to-man schemes. He is a bit late in reacting to plays because of his slow footwork, and the same is true of his reactions when working in zone.

Cam Johnson was projected as a higher round pick(3?), why did he fall so far?

CheramieIII 04-28-2012 02:42 PM

No one is saying anything about him. Let me do some checking

lee909 04-28-2012 02:43 PM

03/15/2012 - The Virginia football program held its annual Pro Timing Day for all draft-eligible players on Thursday. Overview

Cam Johnson was a star receiver and defensive back in high school, and was highly ranked as a safety and outside linebacker prospect. Johnson was also a double digit scorer in basketball. Johnson was a force at defensive end for the Cavaliers during the past two seasons after initially playing linebacker his first two years, including getting some action as a true freshman in 2008. Johnson consistently generated a pass rush, and gave a robust and quality effort against the run. Johnson had 40 tackles, including five tackles for loss, two sacks and one pass defensed in 2009, 53-14-6-4 in 2010, and 30-11-4-1 in 2011. As an NFL Draft prospect, Johnson is clearly best suited as a 4-3 strong ...

Analysis

Strengths: Tremendous explosion, accelerates low with power. Relentless blindside pursuit, tracks down ball carriers on the other side of the field. Fast in a straight line. Excellent wide and bull rushes when quick off the snap. Strong tackler. Has good power in hands and can anchor, shed, and chase. Weaknesses: Is slightly high cut and somewhat stiff in the hips, likely too stiff for 3-4 OLB consideration. Doesn't change directions well. Can be late off the snap. Has a history of serious injuries, including knee and pectoral. Needs more pass rush moves beyond wide and bull. NFL Comparison: Tyler Brayton, Carolina Panthers --Brad Noel

Andrew Tiller
Height: 6-4⅜ | Weight: 324 | 40-Time: 5.50
mid rounder
staqrted 28 games and he's a big un

lee909 04-28-2012 03:05 PM

Sounds like alot of work needed

lee909 04-28-2012 03:05 PM

OVERVIEW
Tiller has NFL size for the guard position. He is a below-average athlete, which hurts his ability to contribute early at the next level. A strong, positional blocker who really excels in the run game, Tiller can overpower his defender with ease. His footwork is his Achilles heel and the reason he could be relegated to the practice squad during his first few years.
ANALYSIS
STRENGTHS Tiller makes his mark as a run blocker. Although not very explosive, he is generally able to move defensive linemen out of the play if he can get his hands on them. Size and strength are the shining attributes of his game.
WEAKNESSES Tiller is a interior lineman who lacks explosion and struggles in pass protection. It seems he hasn't honed in on a stance and pass-set that he feels comfortable with, as he gets too high at times and can be caught off-balance by powerful pass rushers. He struggles in space to work upfield and get his hands on linebackers, and really would excel more in a zone blocking scheme.

179. Andrew Tiller, G, Syracuse: B- Grade
The Saints had no depth at guard. This is a bit early for Andrew Tiller, but that's not a major deal in Round 6.

I thought we would get another d lineman and then a guard in the 7th I guess we'll get some UDFA's for sure.

Miami sucks. they drafted a QB but don't really have any receivers.

I know it's like they're setting up RGIII to fail.

CheramieIII 04-28-2012 05:55 PM

another offensive lineman, REALLY! Look I hope that the Saints Organization is not reading to much in the talent they've developed over the last few years. Is it just me or does it seem like almost all of our picks are projects?

|Mitch| 04-28-2012 05:58 PM

doesn't mean too much but:

Quote:

179. Andrew Tiller, G, Syracuse: B- Grade
The Saints had no depth at guard. This is a bit early for Andrew Tiller, but that's not a major deal in Round 6.

234. Marcel Jones, OT, Nebraska: B Grade
The Saints were looking to upgrade their offensive tackle depth. Marcel Jones is a decent selection. He fits the range and addresses that aforementioned area.

Actually now we know that they did that to get rid of Beck. Makes a little bit more sense but I still think it was a waste of a pick.

CheramieIII 04-28-2012 06:05 PM

I'm all for the offensive lineman but damn our D has sucked the last couple of years.
