Round 4 pick
Come on guys make your predictions:
I can't believe Bobby Massie from Ole Miss is still there and I will go with him. Drew could always use some more protection and this guy was projected as a early 2nd rounder so great value. |
ot is in need. but i am still looking at the secondary.
Chris Greenwood, CB, Albion Height: 6 -1 1/4 Weight: 193 Arm: 31 5/8 Hand: 9 3/8 Wingspan: 78 1/8 Speed: 4.41 10 yd: 1.58 20 YD Shuttle: 4.15 60 YD Shuttle: 11.50 3- Cone: 6.99 Bench: 16 Vertical: 43 Broad: 11-2 If he is there i say once agian gamble on a true 6' 01" CB that has the ability to stay at CB. Heck even a move to FS if need. Cap issue will follow the saints and the time to build depth is now. The secondary Is coming up quickly for resigning. Plus he has produced 13 career interceptions, with 4 returned for touchdowns. He also works as a punt and kickoff returner. AN ALL AMERICAN 2 YEARS RUNNING |
Chase Minnifield is who I'm hoping for.
I think we take BPA regardless, but would expect a corner or OT as others mentioned.
hey tiger fan tell us about minniefield?
Chase Minnifield, CB, Virginia
Height: 5-10. Weight: 183. Projected 40 Time: 4.46. Bench: 7. Arm: 31 1/2. Projected Round (2012): 3-5. 4/25/12: The impression from his pro day was not good since Minnifield was said to be still recovering from his knee injury. He didn't participate in the drills at the Combine for the same reason. Minnifield did weigh in however, and he was much shorter than his college listed height of 6-foot. That is a significance difference. With the knee injury slowly progressing, his stock is falling. Teams threw away from Minnifield throughout 2011. He had three interceptions with 50 tackles, seven tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and eight passes broken up. Minnifield missed Virginia's bowl game because of his minor knee surgery. That also kept him from playing in any All-Star games. He had good coverage overall this season. Minnifield plays well in man coverage and zone coverage. He possesses a nice skill set for the next level. 8/25/11: Chase Minnifield could easily go in the first round, and higher than former teammate cornerback Ras-I Dowling who went with the 33rd overall pick last April. After notching two interceptions a season as a freshman and sophomore, Minnifield broke out with six picks last season. He also had 48 tackles with one sack and four passes broken up. Minnifield can contribute as a punt returner as well. Don't be surprised if his numbers decline as a senior as most teams will probably throw away from him. Minnifield's father Frank was a Pro Bowler with the Browns in the 80s and 90s. |
Thanks Mitch

I agree with going with a CB. It is a very glaring need. I also can not beleive Massie is still there. I don't think he is going to make it to us but if he did, we may have to pull the trigger.
L Green from UL. Dude is a stud and would be a great 1-2 punch at TE. I know the failcants want him too so I pray they dont get him.

Alfonzo Dennard (CB)
Height: 5' - 10" Conference: Big Ten Weight: 204 lbs Arm Length: 30" College: Nebraska Hand Size: 9 1/2" Expert Grade: 85.7 Back to The Combine Performance Stats 40 Yard Dash 4.51 seconds Broad Jump 121.0" Vertical Jump 37.0" Overview Like his classmate Jared Crick, Dennard played alongside premier talent (New York Giants' 2011 first-round pick Prince Amukumara) early in his career and also missed some playing time as a senior due to injury (leg). But unlike Crick, Dennard was less tested as a senior once back from injury because he lost that elite player on the opposite side. He has some of the same traits as Prince in that he is smart, plays with instincts and understands how to support in run defense and play the role of a staunch football player at the corner who does more than just cover. While he is not particularly stellar with any singular trait, he has the size, athletic ability, and overall above-average skills that blend together to make a nice prospect. He is the type of corner who could contribute heavily on special teams in his rookie year, and although he has not been tested much working in the slot, could likely be picked in the late first or early second round. Strengths Dennard is a strong all-around player, who doesn't shine with any particular skill, but that's his main strength: There are few weaknesses in his game. He is a heady player who plays on top of receivers and understands how to turn and run to not get beat deep. He trusts his speed and footwork in man coverage and can fill nicely as a run defender in both run plays and in zone. He is a solid athlete who has fluid hips and can adjust to make ball plays in mid-air. He understands how to play with leverage and jam the receiver at the line of scrimmage, as he is a very balanced and strong player who rarely falls off his stance or gets pushed off coverage by bigger wideouts. Dennard has a lot of experience starting games at a high level and is NFL-ready. Weaknesses Alfonzo is a shorter corner and could potentially get out-jumped at the next level. He can let himself get blocked by more physical receivers at times, but when the play comes his way he usually gets involved. He missed the first three games of 2011 with a pulled leg muscle. |
Jared Crick is my guy in the 4th.
Streeter or Green in the 5th. Better option Streeter and Green in the 5th. |

i think i still have veron davis in my head. bigger and faster CB and S as backup to groom. DE is nice too
I look at the past drafts and the only thing I'm expecting is to be totally surprised by them picking some gem from some school I've never heard of. I think their scouts must spend about 80% of their time driving on dirt roads.
Hope we get a bigger DB or LB to deal with TE's. Spags likes big secondary guys so I think that's what we will get. Most of his DB's were 6' on the Rams. Not really concerned with the OL. We can get a couple later, it seems you can always find a solid one in the later rounds or undrafted.
Massie still there but I have to say I like Alfonzo or Crick
massie bites the dust
damn, I guess we need a DE or CB more anyway.
CB more than DE I think...
I think we go offense....watch
"Saints are on the clock" Let's go to commercial! Imagine that...
Nick Toon?
told you we go offense....lol
Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin
Height: 6-2. Weight: 215. 40 Time: 4.54. Vertical: 37.5. Hand: 9. Projected Round (2012): 2-4. 4/24/12: Toon was solid at the Combine and his 40 time was better than expected. He is a quality prospect for the second day. Toon flashed at times, but Wisconsin simply didn't throw him the ball that much, as the team featured a ground attack. He caught 64 passes for 926 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2011. Toon would have better production if he played on a team that wasn't based in the run game. Toon has nice size, runs good routes, and has good hands. He also blocks extremely well. The wide out did a nice job of developing some quick chemistry with new quarterback Russell Wilson. Toon does not have special speed. That and durability seem to be the missing aspects of his game. 8/19/11: Nick Toon missed four games in 2010, and when you add that in with the Badgers having a run-heavy offense, it is not surprising that his numbers were down drastically. The son of former NFL receiver Al Toon, Nick had 54 receptions, 805 yards and four touchdowns in 2009. Last year, his numbers fell to 36 catches for 459 yards and three scores. Toon will need to test well at the combine to help make up for the lack of catches, yards, and touchdowns. If he can get back to his 2009 production, that would be a good start. |
Al Toon's son!!
typical west coast wr. mid range. not what i wanted but when colston gets his yearly injury time off i guess this is his replacement.
122. Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin: A Grade
Nick Toon could have gone in the third round, so the Saints are getting really good value with him. They're also filling a need because Robert Meachem defected for San Diego. |
Mayock said great hands, can body up, NFL pedigree and excellent route runner. Damn offense again. we do need a DE
round 5?
And Crick went shortly there after our pick
Surprised by that pick and he's slow, definitely not a Meech replacement.
He's good speed not a burner but good speed.
Love his pedigree, and love his size. Good for getting placement for a quick slants. Will create match up issues with a smaller CB. |
Our red zone percentage just increased to 100%
So we're down to not very fast WR's or short CB's........I feel like we still need to stay with defense.
6'3" 220 lbs AND 4.5 SPEED. I'll take that anyday, colston, toon, moore and henderson, graham, sproles on the field at one time. UNSTOPPABLE
WHO IS IT IN THE 5TH
Chris Greenwood, CB, Albion
Height: 6 -1 1/4 Weight: 193 Arm: 31 5/8 Hand: 9 3/8 Wingspan: 78 1/8 Speed: 4.41 10 yd: 1.58 20 YD Shuttle: 4.15 60 YD Shuttle: 11.50 3- Cone: 6.99 Bench: 16 Vertical: 43 Broad: 11-2 He is rated as a 4-5 round pick, he might still be there |
Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska
Cam Johnson, DE, Virginia Trevor Guyton, DE, California |
Isn't Dennard a liability off the field? Didn't he assault a cop or something?
EDIT: Found It: Quote:
