...Saints front office is on CRACK. I have no confidence whatsoever in this administration's ability to war room without Mueller. We could have traded up and took a CB, we could've taken Gamble, we could've traded down for another pick....but no...let's take a position I thought we were least worried about! And don't talk trading a PROVEN Darren Howard for a CB....puuulllleaaassseee! Haslett, I hope you and the pencil-pushing front office are ready for fans running you out of town after this season. Be sure and teach Venturi how to drive a U-Haul.

Couldn\'t agree more. Our draft team is a bunch of idiots. The last position we needed was DE. Howard is way to good to trade for a corner and he has many great years ahead of him. If anything draft the DL from Miami to get some depth there. I am disjusted!!!

Failure to adequately address the cornerback position will be the downfall of Jim Haslett and company.

Hasbeens ego will not let him take a Mel Kiper selection .
Hasbeen called Kiper last year and told him that he had more confidence in his corners then Kiper did and that is why he did not draft Trufant . Kiper projects a corner again this year and once again Hasbeen goes elsewhere . Although with the Saints organization what it is right now , Howard could want out of New Orleans and Hasbeen has to replace him with no quality players left in the free agent market ...... |

A little perspective here yall...
Haslett, Loomis and Benson want to win. The best corners and backers were off the board, so they took the best de in the draft. It wasn\'t a need necessarily, but it\'s more like the Duece situation. They are focusing on the right side of the ball at least and they didn\'t make a big reach just to deal with a more needed position. It was great value. Let\'s stay optimists here, we still have 2 picks in the 2nd to deal with defensive needs. In the meantime, we have a good chance to get Howard to sign for a realist amount of money. We also have the best young defense line in football, it all starts up front. |

Here\'s a little perspective for ya.....the decline of the New Orleans Saints since Mueller left. Listlessness in the draft, major free-agent signings that cost more money that the productivity that the signings brought us and now the second pick on a WR, an LSU wr that will appease the fans for the snafu before? Another year of this crap....when will someone pull the trigger and put the Saint\'s fans out of their misery?

Wow a lot of pessimists on this board, no wonder more people hang out at saintsreport.com. We got a great receiver and a top 10 talent at pick 18. No one else was there worth taking except Gamble, but he isn\'t going to be ready for 2-3 years. So far so good in my book.

Not pessimists...REALISTS. If the first pick wasn\'t so away from what we needed the second pick wouldn\'t be so bad. But as usual we didn\'t really address the needs of this team when we had the chance. And be my guess at hanging out at saintsreport.com If blowing smoke up each others arse is what makes you feel better as your team goes down another year then maybe that\'s where you should be. Over hear we want the problems addressed in the most productive fashion so that this team will rise not decline. This years draft is almost a mirror image of last year\'s. Hmmm...what did we end up? What great free-agent pick-ups have we made to justify the money spent?
