Huge legal fight coming?
Adam Schefter says
'It has been indicated that all four players will appeal their suspensions, but just how vigorously will they contest the ruling? ”Get ready for a massive multiple legal battle over this on several fronts,” said ESPN reporter Adam Schefter earlier on Wednesday.' |

It's the next logical step that the players will be forced to take after the appeals have been quashed by Der Fuhrer. There's nothing else they can do but take it to the legal system.

CBA states players can not appeal any "off the field" issues to anyone but Goodell.
Goodell is playing the "none of this is for what happened on the field", card to keep it in his court. The catch is that he is correct, no one was suspended for any hits on the field. Now is the "other" item.... The players got slammed HARD, BUT, the players were not warned in 2009 to stop, only the front office. Which would be an excellent point for appeal. Basically warning the office, and the coaches not stopping is grounds to slam them.... But never warning the players and telling them to stop does reduce their culpability. Either way Goodell is now and will forever be the "persona non grata" in New Orleans, Cleveland, and Green Bay. And Yes I know the response from select people "they knew it was wrong".... When an item like this reaches this level it is no longer a know/think/feel item... It is an actuality item... The NFL did not do its due diligence in telling the players to stop. |

Well to the letter of the agreement, if the players can show malice, breach of contract, or improper conduct by Goddell, they are allowed to go to court, according to the agreement. And I think they can. I believe the court wants to hear this case. I know the supreme court does. |

Goodell?? ![]() "We are appealing to the appellate, for the permission to appeal to a court higher than the appellate. Our evidence shows malice on the part of the appellate that is supposed to hear our appeal. Yea that's you Roger. We do not believe we can get a proper appeal hearing from the appellate, so we are going above your ass!" |

If I were a Judge, I would jump all over this to further my career, and if they can't get that, it gets worst for the NFL, because they are forced to bring it to the supreme court to nullify the antitrust agreement. NFL owners do not want that to happen or for this to get that far. People have a real misconception that you can't get around RG, as I showed you, thats just not true at all. They could even void the CBA citing the agreement was already broken. This is why it could take years. |
Saints proved that pigs could fly in 2009.
Now its time for another miracle SuperBowl and go where no pig has gone before. ![]() Last edited by pherein; 05-03-2012 at 01:59 PM.. |

Baseball for example: I played for 12 years... Cant even watch it now because of all the steroid, HGH, strikes, etc... They need to serve their suspensions, and carry on with business. If they were fired, terminated, sent to jail.. I would take it to God if I had to. |

Now the lawyers are gonna come busting through the brick wall at the perfect moment, screaming "Ohhh YEAHHHHHH" like the Kool-Aid guy. It's gonna be sweet to watch.
