I disagree that it's time to get excited. The Drew Brees situation has not been resolved, and I will not feel anything but nervousness until it gets done.

Danno, you know that if Drew announced his retirement tonight, you along with the rest of us would drop a BIG turd right where you're standing. We would all get pissed, and we would spend the rest of the off season blaming Goodell, Williams, and Drews agent for killing our golden goose.

Nope, the only person I'd blame is Drew Brees, and I'd be just as excited about 2012 with or without Drew and there's not a shred of doubt in my mind about that at all.

IF Drew retired today, I'd be excited to see how Chase would fare as the starter.

But Drew is not retiring and until he is wrapped up long term I'm not excited...
