I don't see how I am inventing anything. I don't control the Saints anymore than you do. Was Nicks underpaid? Yes. But I guess it is okay to over pay a player at the cost of losing other players.

Say what you want. Call me dumb if you like.

But I don't want a crap team (because we can't afford to keep or bring in good players) again and then say "But we have Drew Brees!" Do you?

No, I don't think you're dumb or anything like that. Please don't think I meant anything like that. I actually like your posts. I just think in the case of comparing the new guy to Nicks, you are "inventing" a crisis that hasn't happened yet. Nobody knows how this new guy is going to work out, he may turn out to be a stellar addition to the team at a fraction of the price of Nicks, which is exactly what we all want. Worrying about it before he's played a single down is counter-productive. That's all I meant. Unlike a lot of people here, I trust the Saints' front office to come up with a deal for Brees that is fair to both parties and keeps the team competitive for the rest of Brees' time here.
