Just a random thought here:
Lots of us (the fans) have speculated that the real reason for the harsh player/coach punishments is to help protect the league through the course of the multiple lawsuits being brought against the league by former players. I'm thinking that the evidence is being withheld for the same reason: so that it cannot be used by the lawyers bringing suits against the league. If they release it to the public, it could be used against them. I'm not saying I agree with their refusal to release the evidence, but that could very well be why they are refusing. |

That doesn't make sense. Their whole argument against lawsuits would be that it was players that were intentionally injuring other players. The evidence would help the NFL's case by showing they were concerned about safety and brought an end to it.
