could be...
he only signed with Pitt last year bc of the lockout/strike/whatever

Pitt has the ageless twins Leftwich and Batch, so they must not think a lot of DD

I would think the last thing that the Saints would want is a completely different style of "dual threat like Newton" quarterback to be the backup, meaning a completely different style of offense and a completely different set of plays and blocking schemes to be installed whenever he is in the game. The Saints MO is to have a backup QB who is as much like Drew as possible. When Chase is out there during preseason, he is running the same exact plays that Drew and the big boys run, just with Courtney Roby and Arrington etc. The Sean Payton offense doesn't change its style or miss a beat when you swap out a player, and that includes Drew as well.

Well, except that SP calls like 80% running plays when Daniel is in as opposed to like 30% when Brees is in - case and point the 4th quarter of the Colts game last season.

He does not call it like that during preseason, which is what I was referring to. In preseason it is the same plays just with Roby, Arrington, and guys like that.

Yes, I understood that, but I was referring to the part where you wrote: "The Sean Payton offense doesn't change its style or miss a beat when you swap out a player, and that includes Drew as well."

My point was that that is not what we've seen happen in the past when Daniel has taken the field to replace Brees.

Naturally, for example the Colts game, the game was in a situation where they didn't need to push forward as aggressively because of the lead they had, and therefore, it was logical for SP to call more running plays than otherwise.

But to say that they could replace Brees with Daniel in a meaningful situation and not "miss a beat" is a bit of an exaggeration in my opinion... of course things could be different under PC's control, but I still doubt it.
